Invoice your waste customers straight from the job
Connect your Xero once. Then every collection you finish can become a draft invoice in your Xero, with the job reference already on it. No spreadsheets to fiddle with, and no typing the same job in twice.
Get paid without the paperwork twice
You have already booked the collection, run the driver, and made the consignment note. The details of that job, who the customer is, what you moved, and the reference, are already in Consigns. So why type them all again into your accounts?
The Xero integration closes that gap. When a job is booked with invoicing turned on, Consigns creates a matching draft sales invoice in your Xero, ready for you to check and send. The work you already did to book the job is the work that raises the invoice.
Connect Xero once
Go to Settings, choose Xero, and sign in. You pick which Xero organisation to use and your default sales account and tax rate. We never see your Xero password.
Book the job as normal
When you book a collection, choose whether to invoice the customer and enter the amount. Everything else, the customer and the reference, comes from the job.
A draft lands in Xero
Consigns matches or creates the customer as a Xero contact and drafts the invoice against it, using the job reference as the description. You review and send it from Xero.
What the integration handles for you
- The customer. Consigns finds the matching contact in your Xero, or creates it, so you are not keeping two address books in step by hand.
- The reference. The job number goes on the invoice as the line description, so your invoice and your waste records point at the same movement.
- Your defaults. The invoice uses the sales account and tax rate you chose when you connected, so it posts to the right place in your books.
- A draft, not a send. Every invoice arrives as a draft. Nothing goes to your customer until you have checked it and sent it yourself from Xero.
- A record on the job. The invoice is linked to the movement, so you can see which jobs are invoiced and open any invoice in Xero in one click.
Prefer a spreadsheet, or not on Xero? Consigns also exports your completed jobs as a CSV, including a column set built for Xero's own import. The live connection is the quick path; the export is there for everyone else.
Not on Xero yet?
You need a Xero account to use the live connection, on any Xero plan that includes sales invoices. If you are not on Xero, the invoicing CSV export gives you the same figures to import into most other accounting systems, or to hand to your bookkeeper.
