Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: 30 April 2026 · v2026-05-01-v2
This policy applies to all users of Consigns (consigns.co.uk), operated by Kaizen Web Ltd (Company No. 17007703). By using Consigns, you agree to follow this policy. This policy forms part of our Terms of Service, so breaking this policy is also a breach of those terms.
Prohibited activities
You must not use Consigns, or any data obtained through it, to:
- Engage in illegal activity: any purpose that violates applicable laws or regulations, including the creation of fraudulent consignment notes, falsification of waste records, or evasion of statutory duty of care under the Hazardous Waste Regulations 2005.
- Circumvent security: bypass, disable, or interfere with sign-in, access controls, encryption, rate limits, or any other security feature.
- Access other organisations' data: attempt to view, change, or delete data that belongs to another organisation. This includes technical tricks, token manipulation, or social engineering of Consigns staff.
- Upload malicious content: viruses, malware, trojans, worms, or any code intended to compromise Consigns or its users.
- Reverse engineer or decompile: attempt to derive the source code or inner workings of Consigns, including the PDF generator, EWC code lookup, DEFRA Digital Waste Tracking submission tools, numbering rules, or jobs board logic.
- Scrape or bulk-extract: use scrapers, headless browsers, automated scripts, or similar tools to extract data from Consigns beyond your own data export and any documented API. This includes harvesting the EWC catalogue, copying HWCN form layouts, or collecting customer-facing form URLs.
- Abuse the request form: the collection request form at
/request/{your-org-slug}is for genuine collection requests from your customers only. Do not use it to spam other organisations, create fake leads, or disrupt other organisations' flows. - Abuse the API: excessive request rates, scraping endpoints, or any use that degrades the service for other organisations. Published rate limits apply.
- Resell access: resell, sublicense, white-label without contract, or redistribute access to Consigns without the prior written consent of Kaizen Web Ltd. Reseller arrangements are available by contacting us.
- Build a competing product: use Consigns or its data to design, build, train, or operate a competing UK hazardous-waste compliance service during your subscription or for twelve (12) months after termination. See Terms of Service §11.3.
- Train AI or machine-learning models on our outputs: use the PDFs, jobs board state, EWC mappings, DEFRA payloads, or any other Consigns-generated output as training data without our prior written consent.
- Misuse the receiving site view: sign off Part E for consignments your facility did not actually receive or process. The receiving site view carries the same regulatory weight as a paper Part E and signing falsely may constitute fraud under the Hazardous Waste Regulations.
- Interfere with the service: any action that imposes unreasonable load, disrupts other organisations, or degrades service availability.
- Spoof identity: sign consignment notes (Parts C, D, or E) under a name that is not your own, or impersonate another user, customer, or regulator.

Violations of this policy may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account, without prior notice or refund. We reserve the right to investigate suspected violations and to cooperate with law enforcement authorities where appropriate.
