Team management
This guide covers inviting your team, choosing roles, and removing people when they no longer need access.
Inviting team members by email
From the Team page, click Invite member. Enter the person's email address and choose a role. They will receive an email with a link to join your company account.
The invitation link is valid for 7 days. If it expires before they sign up, you can resend it from the Team page.
Adding members directly
You can also add a team member yourself instead of waiting for them to accept an invite. From the Team page, choose to add a member, then enter their name, email, a starting password and a role. They can sign in straight away with those details. This is handy when you are setting up several drivers at once.
Roles
Consigns has these roles:
- Owner - full access to everything, including billing, company settings, and the team. There is one owner per account.
- Admin - can create and manage jobs, assign drivers, see all jobs, and manage the team. Admins do not handle billing.
- Driver - sees only the jobs assigned to them and uses the driver view to complete collections on site. Drivers cannot create jobs or see other drivers' work.
- Receiver - the person at the receiving site who confirms the waste has arrived and completes their part of the consignment note (Part E). Some companies see this role under a different name, such as "Lab", to match how they work.
You can change a member's role from the Team page at any time.
Team limits
How many admins, drivers and receiving site users you can add depends on your plan. Higher plans allow more people, and some plans allow an unlimited number.
The Billing page shows your current limits and how many seats you have used, so you always see the right figures for your plan. The owner does not count towards the admin limit, and admins do not count towards the driver limit. If you run out of room, you can change your plan.
Removing team members
To remove someone, go to the Team page, find the member, and click Remove. Their account is turned off straight away, so they can no longer sign in or access jobs.
Jobs assigned to a removed driver move back to Confirmed so you can assign them to someone else. Completed job records stay intact. Removing a team member does not delete records.
