Schedules and handovers
This guide covers two tools that save your team time: schedules for collections that repeat, and handovers for passing a job to another carrier. Both are on the Pro plan and above, and you will find them in the Work part of the menu.
Schedules
A schedule is for a collection that happens again and again, so you do not type it out each time. You build a schedule from a job you have already done. Consigns then creates the next draft for you when it is due.
To set one up, open Schedules and choose New repeat job. Give it a name, pick a job to copy, and choose how often it repeats. Each time it is due, a fresh draft job appears on your jobs board, ready for you to check and confirm.
The Schedules page shows when each one next runs and lets you pause a schedule and start it again later. A schedule that is due is easy to spot, so nothing slips.
Handovers
Sometimes another carrier needs to take over a job, for example when you are covering for each other or the waste is being passed along. A handover lets you offer the job to them cleanly.
Open Handovers and create an offer. There are two ways to send it:
- To another company on Consigns. If you work within a group, you can offer the job straight to another company in that group. They see it under their own handovers and can accept or decline.
- To an outside carrier by link. Enter their email and Consigns creates a private link for them. They open the link, see the job, and accept or decline. You can set how long the link lasts and cancel it before it is used.
The page keeps incoming and outgoing offers separate, and shows which links are still waiting. A job can only be offered while it is in an early stage and is not already waiting for another carrier.
