Destinations and receiving sites
Destinations are the places you take waste to, such as receiving sites, transfer stations and recycling centres. Save them once and you can pick them on every new job. You will find them under Destinations in the Resources part of the menu.
Customer collection addresses, the places you collect waste from, live under Customers. See the Customers and sites guide.
Adding a destination
Choose Add destination. You can look the site up by name or address to fill most of it in, then add:
- Name of the site, such as the treatment facility.
- Address and postcode.
- Phone and email, if you want them on file.
The default receiving site
You can mark one destination as your default receiving site. This is the site most of your waste goes to. Tick "Use as default receiving site" when you add or edit a destination.
The default feeds straight into the new-job form. When you book a job, the "Where is the waste going?" question starts on your default site, so most jobs need no change. If a load goes somewhere else, you pick the other site from the list. If you only have one saved site, it is chosen for you.
Linking a job to the right site matters, because that is how the load counts towards the site's permit limits. See the Permits guide.
Documents and permit limits on a site
Open a destination to see its record. A site can carry:
- Permit limits - the yearly and stock limits for each waste type the site is allowed to take. The destination shows how many limits it has, and the full detail is on the Permits page.
- Documents - the site's permit, registration or other paperwork, with their expiry dates. The list warns you when a site has a document that has expired or is expiring soon, so you can sort it before booking more jobs there.
How many you can add
The number of destinations you can save depends on your plan. The page tells you if you have reached your plan's limit, and the Billing and plans page shows the figure for your plan.
